Not worth it for network cards

The card is physically x4, but only uses x2 PCI-E 2.0 lanes. This isn't necessarily a bad thing in itself, since PCI-E 2.0 allows 5 Gb/s per lane (500 MB/s). It's probably x1 for the SATA3 controller which should be 6Gbps but then you only get 5Gbps and x1 for the USB3 controller which is also 5Gbps so that's fine. However, the SATA performance of this card seems to be limited to around 400 MB/s. I won't upload photos of my own tests, but if you look at the hard drive performance tests that…

Highly recommended!

Most modern computers don't have enough USB ports when used in a production environment and this certainly applies to my Lenovo ThinkCentre M83. Tower with Windows 10 Professional. To solve this problem, I decided to try this card. It worked immediately and flawlessly. CD drives connected to internal SATA ports and devices connected to external USB 3.0 ports work and are recognized. I can't comment on HDD or SSD speeds with this card, but the system never lags when accessing an optical cable…

Pros
  • Internal HDD power connector for additional +5V power supply to USB ports
Cons
  • Secret

I bought this card specifically to connect a DVD player to an old Dell OptiPlex 390 running Ubuntu MATE 20.04. Nowhere in the product description does it say that this card is not ATAPI compliant! When a CD/DVD/BLU-RAY drive is connected to this card, the computer will not boot. Only hard disks can be connected to this card! This card also does not transmit any switch-off commands to connected USB devices. So if you try to put your computer to sleep or hibernate, it won't work if something is…

Pros
  • Two internal SATA 6Gb/s ports
Cons
  • Easy repairability

I have a Syba SD-PEX50055 for my MacPro5.1. I put it in the top slot (one of the x4 slots), plugged in the SSDs and booted it up. To my surprise, my Mac booted directly from the SSD on the card and only used the OS drivers. This card is an all-in-one AHCI 1.2 controller with dual 6Gb SATA links. It also gives me two USB 3 slots that also work with internal drivers and negotiate speeds of up to 5Gbps. I'm running this on 10.12.6 with a Samsung Evo 840. On internal SATA I've seen top speeds of…

Pros
  • PCI-Express x4 2.0 interface
