System Sensor 2W B Photoelectric Detector Review

Our detector is broken. Instead of calling the security company I found it was a replacement. The wiring is a little confusing, but it works great and I'm saving $$$.

I was able to fit them to the existing bases as the model was unchanged from the 10 year old originals we replaced. As a result, the installation took about 30 seconds per unit.

One failed after 6 years of use. Installs and works in about 30 seconds. However, after installation, an alarm went off and the system called the fire brigade. I reset the fault on the control panel and got a false alarm. Since then no problems.

A defective smoke detector was sent to me - if possible I would give zero stars: all the connecting wires supplied by the manufacturer were missing, which meant that you could not connect it to your overall system. Also, the base supplied did not lock to the detector.

I recently found out that smoke detectors only last 10 years and I had to replace the detectors in my 18 year old alarm system. I bought 10 of these detectors and they arrived quickly and in good condition. They were easy to install and started working right away. All green LEDs are flashing confirming they are working on all ten and I have tested them and they are really alarming. I would buy them again if I need more.

I replaced six Honeywell 2 wire smoke alarms to use the previous base plates which makes the process much easier and quicker. Only 2 out of 6 worked after installation. I had an ADT technician check the system and the wiring was fine. The system alarmed when removed or replaced. He concluded that 4 of the new alarms were defective. Therefore 4 out of 6 were defective. This is NOT a good relationship! I am trying to get my money back but there is no hope.
