Good filler base although we filled in larger imperfections than usual

I understand what it's really intended for and we used it totally inappropriately 100 years ago to fill in big gaps and cracks in the ground. We used wood flour cement which I bought locally. We made a thicker paste, almost like oatmeal, and so far it's held up really well. Even better when used as intended

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Compatibility

Good fillet putty

It's a lot of wood flour and mixes well with epoxy. I built a rowboat out of stitches and glue and barely dented the hull. I have enough left over to probably make half a dozen more boat projects. But remember that this is a dark material. I think that's why they call it brown. Fillet material comes out chocolate-colored. Of course I don't care because I'm going to paint my boat, but if you want a natural color then that makes all the difference.

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Great price

Good stuff - Sealants

I used this with wood glue to make putty to repair an antique china cabinet with a broken wooden doorknob. I had no choice but to have a carpenter make a new pull arm for me. This has been working for a good month or so now. Haven't pulled it yet, but will keep trying. I bought this bin and used very little on my project so am curious to find another use for an almost full bin. Will definitely be used as a filler where needed in the future.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Requires Socket

This is good stuff!

I mixed epoxy to fill in rotten beams in my deck structure. This material used as a thickener was fantastic. I could mix the epoxy to any consistency needed for the job simply by adding the appropriate amount of wood flour. Really really really impressed and it solved a big problem for me which was pouring epoxy into a rotten spot without it spilling out through every nook and cranny. Apply the first coat of epoxy to get good penetration into the wood, but subsequent pours can be made thicker.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not sure
