Don't buy the best in aquarium heaters

Don't buy this if you want your fish to stay alive! I bought them before the cold snap and they didn't work. All my fish have died. I have had some of these fish for 5 years now. They will refund your money, but no one will replace your aquarium friends. If I couldn't leave stars, I would

Does not work with aquarium heaters

Two days have passed and the thermometer in the unit was not accurate. I was dealing with this until today it started beeping with an HH code telling me the water was over 95 degrees. The temperature was set at 78 and the tank thermometer reads 73. So it didn't work anymore with this code. I unplugged the heater for 10 minutes hoping it would restart. I go back!

Terrible product. Completely unreliable.

This heater is 55 gallons. Aquarium. Temperature control was everywhere: every two minutes from 85 to 70 degrees and back. There were no fish in the tank so I left the heater on overnight hoping it would settle to the temperature I had set. It's not like this. It just kept breaking. If you are looking for a reliable heater, you should look elsewhere.

Works well when set up correctly

I had the same results as other reviewers and was about to return the product. Due diligence indicates that I have read the attached instructions more carefully than I initially did; where I noticed the "high current" requirement. Now that the setting is corrected the 300w unit works very well and heats the water very quickly. I also use an 85 gallon aquaponic setup. It quickly heats water (85 gallons), 100 pounds of media, plants and gear. Almost too fast for the fish to adjust properly. 65*F…

Accurate Temperature Readings

Temperatures agree by 0.3° on this and my glass thermometer. It is very easy to set the desired temperature in the tank. All you have to do is press a single button on the device and change the temperature 1 degree at a time. I really like that it's black. I painted the tank black on the outside before installing it and the heater disappears seen from the front. It comes with two sticky sidewall/aquarium hooks.
