I'm a clumsy monkey and I broke my last three salt and pepper grinders by dropping them so I bought these wood grinders hoping I wouldn't have another one break the set. Three falls on the tile floor and two dog attacks and they still work and look great!

Very easy to fill and easy to use. Goes well with whole peppercorns and large chunks of rock salt. Remember that with these grinders you can easily adjust the grind of the salt and pepper by simply turning the metal knob on the top of each grinder. Longevity is great for the price, it's worth it!

Complaints about top detachment. You adjust the coarseness by loosening/tightening the top knob. If it is not fully tightened, it is fully functional. Just adjust the roughness setting and apply thread lock to the threads. It lasts until you refill. If you don't like screw locking, use Teflon tubing.

I really like them for the price. They grind both salt and pepper to an evenly fine grind, which is exactly what I was looking for. The only downside is that after a few uses, the top handle holding the lid has become loose. It doesn't matter much as it tightens easily, but care must be taken not to accidentally drop it when the lid pops off. Otherwise I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Users 5/5 probably only use them for their Instagram backgrounds. In fact, I use these things on a daily basis and they're just cheap junk. Threw it in the trash after a few months. - The metal insert fell out of the top all the time, I had to glue it. - The salt stone is constantly clogged (let me ask you, no, it's not humid in here, and yes, I've tried *dry* salt) - The pepper stone is completely clogged. - A small stone chip is BROKEN by the pepper grinder. This product would be perfect if it had the right hardware. The sander's drive shaft is square and simply inserts into the wood from above, but the wood itself is too soft to work with. As a result it seems to work great for about 1 year, in fact the metal drive shaft wears away through the wood (going into your food) until the square groove in the wood has worn down to a circle that can no longer drive the grinder.
