My first was from April 2017 to December 2018 when the wire came out of the nut. I tried to fix it myself but without the right tools it would be very difficult and for the cost it wasn't worth the time and effort. I bought a TableCraft H77448 Cheese Slicer through the Kitchen Collection - personally. I love that this cheese slicer feels sturdy and I love that it has an adjustable wheel for the thickness of the cheese slices. I learned the hard way that trying to use it on very hard cheese can break the wire.
