I got this for my 2 year old grandson to help him talk . It is working but my son says the high pitch voice can be annoying. I laughed so hard watching my grandson play with this. He is talking to this little hamster. You’ll hit it out of the ball park with this one.

The item is adorable but the sound effects are not very good. I got one for my 16 month old granddaughter and it picks up her babbling pretty good. But for my 3 year old grandson it doesn’t get many words distinguishable enough to understand what it is saying back to him or other adults. Only that they like them I would have returned them as they are not close to what is advertised.

Talking hamster was nice and responsive at the start. The louder and more constant the noises, the more the audio quality dropped. But after purchasing and owning for one week, it stopped working. Checked the internal wiring and found the soldering on one of the wires was separated.Poorly made, cheap, and shoddy work put in. I bought this item for my granddaughter and she was at first frightened when she realized he repeats EVERYTHING. It was hilariously! She eventually got used to the Hamster and loves it. It's very cute and entertaining, although, after a while, I turned off the sound. I strongly recommend this item.

I thought this was going to be an amazing idea for my toddler. However unless I’m talking to the base of the toy where the plastic and batteries are it won’t "hear” what I’m saying. I bought this for my 4 year old grandson for Christmas and he opened it as one of his first gifts and he never put it down after that. He talked to it while opening gifts and it talked back and he would laugh but if he got away from it for a minute he wanted it back right away.

This is the second time I have bought this toy because it's so much fun for children. One thing that is especially good is that it repeats whatever is said, no matter which language is being spoken. Most talking toys sold in the USA speak only in English. Not this one, because it simply repeats! So it is good for bi-lingual households or children for whom English is not necessarily their first language. The whole family can participate and play with this toy.

It's randomly make high pitch noise when there is no sound around it, it picks up background noises but not when you talk to it unless you yell loud at it and the hamster cover doesn't even stay on it slips right off. I would return this item but I live far out in the country it takes 30 minutes to get to a post office. $25 gift wasted 😞
