I do not cease to rejoice at the purchase, a very good deal!

This is already the third lens from a tamron with a silver ring in my technopark, and so far my impressions are only positive. According to subjective feelings, the weight and dimensions of this glass greatly outweigh the value of aperture in a similar model 70-200 f2.8, and even more so at such focal lengths, and as a bonus +10 mm focal length at the long end. Even in dark scenes, f4 with a stub is enough. So to anyone who is still thinking - I strongly recommend it!

Pros
  • Outwardly, a very nice design, and in the hands it feels comfortable. The stub works great, and you can take it with a reserve for the future, if you plan to switch to a more megapixel matrix. In terms of focusing speed, everything is also quite fast, the ability to focus on close distances is especially pleasing. The weight is such that there is a balance with a DSLR, and it is convenient to keep it on weight even for a long time, for example, when shooting performances, concerts, etc. A separate joy is a monolithic body without a retractable trunk, with this it is not scary both in dust and in rain.
Cons
  • There is no focusing distance limiter, but it should be noted that I have not yet had moments when autofocus would start to senselessly crawl back and forth. The hood in the stowed state closes the zoom ring. Rubber ring: I have another lens of the same series (24-70 g2) and both rubber rings have crept there after a year of regular use, here is the same rubber, but only on the zoom ring, and the focus is made of plastic, so it would be better both rings were plastic. Life hack: stretched rubber is easily treated with acetone baths, but, however, the smell from it will go away after 2 months, but like new. (-:

A great option for this money, one of the best offers.

Glass went with me on an expedition to Kamchatka, passed both dust and water, there were no problems. I thought about taking it for a couple of months, then changing it to f2.8, but thanks to the surprisingly excellent sharpness and compactness (which is very important for me), the glass will now remain in the main expedition fleet for a long time. Some pros: Dust and moisture protection (passed the test of heavy rain and sandstorm), internal focusing, image quality, focusing speed…

The right product for me, there were no problems.

If you are familiar with the Tamron quality, then I think this model does not need additional description, the frames are juicy, clear, the color reproduction is gorgeous, always sharp, the bokeh is excellent. Landscapes are of the highest class. I myself switched from advanced Canons and Nikons to tamrons a long time ago and I’ll tell you honestly, I don’t regret it.

Pros
  • Internal zoom that does not change the dimensions of the lens, nine-bladed aperture, fluorine coating as a protection against moisture.
Cons
  • I haven’t found it yet, but maybe I’ll notice something with time of use, I’ll add it.

Great lens great price

I rented a Nikon F4 before buying this lens and the Tamron was sharper in my tests! I use it for stage productions and even wide open it's crisp. This lens has received many good reviews in the photo press and deserves them all.

Great lightweight alternative to 70-200 f2.8

I've had this lens for a little over 2 weeks. It's fast (f4), light enough to carry, has built-in zoom focus and excellent clarity. I immediately updated the firmware and got great very low ISO images. This is a very good lens.

For the money this is a bargain

Bought this at a bargain price from Revain around Christmas. About 4 years ago I had a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. It was much bigger and heavier. This new lens has no background blur at full aperture, but is sharp, focuses quickly and is easy to carry. If you are not a professional and rarely shoot in low light, this lens can meet your needs at a great price.

  • Out of style

LARGE field lens. fits SLR lenses

This is a great field lens. I used it to photograph football and lacrosse from the side. And it should be great for football too. At first I doubted the front position of the zoom ring. But in operation it worked perfectly. Of course, the zoom ring fits your thumb and finger. It was lightweight and easy to twist with your fingers. ++ Tracking a fast moving player is no problem at all. Unlike many zooms where you have to grab the zoom ring with your hand to turn it because it's tight. For you at
