Don't waste your money

I am very disappointed with this purchase but at this price it's not worth returning. If I don't connect the mini mic to a hub and hold it directly under my face, the playback (in Skype) is so quiet it's almost inaudible. When I plugged it directly into a USB port on my desktop (tower) computer or placed the hub under my desktop, I couldn't hear any playback at all.

Pros
  • Positive only
Cons
  • Style 90

Unreasonably low output volume

Despite the extremely low price, this microphone is so quiet that it cannot even be used remotely. To confirm this, I compared the output levels in the following two scenarios: (1) *yelling* into this device at close range and (2) a very quiet conversation into a standard headset microphone. Speaking softly into the headset was *considerably* louder than yelling into that mic. It's too late to return it, so I guess I'll have to throw it away.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • There are some nuances

Useless Computers and Accessories

They're so bad I can't even think of a use for them. I got two because I wanted to use them in an audio project with some Raspberry Pis, but the signal is so bad/weak that they're really useless for anything other than detecting very loud noises. I've also tried them on my MacPro and they were just a little less terrible than the Pi. Some reviewers seem happy with them so I may only have two really bad ones but the ones I have are terrible.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Expensive

To sum it up in one word, meh

I tried this on my Shield TV as I'm using a 3rd party remote and the voice doesn't work with it. I bought it hoping it would work as a replacement. Well it works. But you have to be right next to the sign and be pretty loud so it's not good for my situation. I gave this one 3 stars as it works like plug and play but it's pretty weak.

Pros
  • A few competitors
Cons
  • weak

Small and delicate.

Connected directly to the UPC port on my Dell 8700 2.0 and was up and running with Windows 10 Cortana in less than half a minute. It's sensitive enough that you don't have to speak directly into the mic, and unlike a standalone mic, it doesn't take up any space. However, my opinion is that it was probably designed for speech recognition and will never buy for high-quality audio recording.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Senior Citizen

I use it with NVIDIA Shield and Logitech Voice Control Remote

I'm using this with the NVIDIA shield. I replaced the Shield remote with a Logitech universal remote, but I needed a way for the device to have a microphone so I could assign a button on my Logitech remote to activate voice control. It doesn't work with the "always listening" scenario like the Shield game controller, but it still bugs me. It was decent enough to use for some games when my desktop mic broke, but I wouldn't recommend it for that.

Pros
  • . Plug and Play: no driver required, just plug into Windows PC to get microphone instantly.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
