You get what you pay for!

Well this leather is cheap and it definitely looks cheap! I have BIG doubts this is tandy leather, there were no tags or tandy packaging, it arrived in white paper in an unmarked bag. The skin is very dry, hard, has many defects and variations in width. Luckily I used it for a cheap project anyway so it was fine but I definitely won't be going back.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Can't remember

Bare solid belt, 1.5 " wide and 4 mm (10 oz) thick

Item arrived on time, very nice uniform color and texture. Slightly thicker and longer than I expected. I ordered 2 blanks . One was 53" long and the other 63" long and 4mm thick, which is 10 ounces of leather. I don't know if this is really a Tandy product. The Tandy warp number for the same product is 4523-00 ( $10), this is 4532-00 ($8) which does not appear on the Tandy website The "Visit Tandy Store" link on the Revain page takes you to the Beltscom website.

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • Damaged

Great belt blank for successful projects

The belt blank was the same thickness for 90% of the belt and was long enough for the 34" belt I made (I cut at least 8"). counting). This was my first belt and I am very happy to have had such a good first experience. There were no odd spots to avoid and the thickness and width were perfect for a men's denim belt. The leather absorbed stains well and was easy to work with. You may need to trim the width of your buckle a bit, and you'll definitely need to thin/shorten the strap where you double

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick start guide
