Description of TANG Sun Shades Depot 10' X 15' Rectanlge Waterproof Knitted Shade Sail Curved Edge Red 260 GSM U*V Block Shade Fabric Pergola Carport Canopy Replacement Awning Customize Available

Create a comfortable, attractive, cool outdoor enjoyment area. Waterproof sails are made from high density polyester that blocks up to 98% of the sun's U*V rays and repels up to 99% of rain water. Recommended Install at a 20-40 degree angle with maximum tension to allow rain runoff. If not, rain water may accumulate in the shade like a bag, which can cause the material to stretch. You need to tighten the shade, or set it at a steeper angle. Also make sure that there is no place where water could accumulate that would prevent water running straight off. Important: Our shade sails have curved sides to enhance pull strength and prevent drooping; this can add 1”-8” in side length. Middle-center of sail will be shorter in width due to curves. If straight sides are preferred please contact us. Read description for details. Easy to clean with water. Ideal for your deck in backyard, pool and pond, pergola, sandbox, driveway or other outdoor area to protect against 88% up to 95% U*V, and make your patio privacy safe, cool and fabulous. Important: Our shade sails have curved sides to enhance pull strength and prevent drooping; this can add 1”-8” in side length. Middle-center of sail will be shorter in width due to curves. If straight sides are preferred please contact us. Read description for details.

Size was right for what I was looking for as hard to find a 10x15 sun shade. However after 1 month the D rings started to rust and bleed into the material which hasn't happened in sun shade bought from Love Story brand. Also it could be psychological but the material feels thinner than other sun shades purchased. Did contact customer service that recommend spraying with WD-40, but shouldn't have to do that for a supposed waterproof sun shade. Would have been easy if they just used stainless…

Pros
  • Definitely worth the price.
Cons
  • Giant water catcher. Basically a tarp.

Looks great. exactly what I was looking for!

I recently bought the 10x15 rectangular sail in gray. It looks great and has excellent quality. To install, I went to my local big box hardware store and I bought 4 eye-screws, 4 carabiners, 4 quick-links, and 2 turn-buckles. Once in place and under tension, the shade sail looks great with no wrinkles. You may need to add wire rope extensions for your application. Tang guarantees the sail is waterproof. I'm still waiting for rain to test it out. stay tuned for an update.

Pros
  • Just the right size for covering outside my back door
Cons
  • Well built, but ripped in high wind.

Does the job well! for my opinion

Bought thus to keep the weather of my back deck. I tried to install it with all 3 sides level and the first time it rained, it filled with water. I adjusted 1 side higher about 2 inches, one side lower 2 inches and left one hook point alone. Works as advertised.

Cons
  • Difficult to remove and store during colder months

COOLEST waterproof shade EVER !

Love the quality and style of this waterproof sunshade! Water runs off nicely and creates a cooler area to get out of direct sun. Made well with rings on four corners with durable stitching. Form meets great function with a cool "sky and clouds" design ! Thanks !

Cons
  • May require additional hardware or accessories for proper installation

Still in one piece.

We get some pretty good winds through here and the shade has handled them quite well. I did take it down when we expected 60 mph gusts, but it has easily handled 30. Getting a good angle for drainage has been a little tricky, but I'm sure that's just my particular situation. So far, very happy with it.

Pros
  • Used it on the porch, small area.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for extreme weather conditions

Waterproof version works.

I'm impressed with this tarp. I bought a 10'x20' and have it suspended over an alley between two buildings. Tarp has filled with rain water several times because my slope is not quite enough for drainage. I'm designing a few PVC pipe arches to help water run off. Bottom line is I've abused this tarp because I didn't know how rain would effect it. It has held up impressively well and is very strong. The tarp has sustained some damage due to the weight of the water, but I will replace it with the

Didn't work for me

I was trying to cover my driveway, specifically my car, as I have to leave it out and while this worked for a little while, as soon as the rain came (and winds) it stretched it out. It's almost resting on my car now. I'm now looking to build a pergola in its place.

Pros
  • Nice product, Worked well gives nice shade
Cons
  • Limited color options

Product exceeded expectations.

Long term durability to be determined. That's my review! Repeals water as identified. Stretch tight and not loss of sewn seams.

Pros
  • Worked perfectly for additional shade on our deck.
Cons
  • May not fit all pergolas and carports

Not waterproof in my review

The material is not waterproof and does not look as shown in the pics. Sent an email to seller and no response. Stay away from this product.

Pros
  • Awesome sail
Cons
  • Requires regular cleaning and maintenance to prevent mold and mildew growth

Great shade solution

Pleased with this sail. It’s lightweight and seems well made.It doesn’t come with hardware, so we bought a kit. It does come with white rope, but we chose to use the rope that came with the kit instead.I don’t think these things are especially easy to install if you don’t do a little planning and measuring. Ha ha. But a lot easier than any other type of awning. We are really happy with this shade solution.

Pros
  • Good so far will keep you posted !!!
Cons
  • Fabric can easily tear or snag

Poor quality, didn't last 4 months

Shade didn't last 4 months. We heard a knocking sound walked outside and the shade was torn and slapping the side of the house.

Pros
  • Keeps the rain off my dogs.
Cons
  • Knitted design may not provide enough shade

Sturdy material. for my opinion

We converted a grain bin into an art studio and needed a way to shade the back door from the sun in the afternoon. We chose two sun sails and slightly overlapped them. We used hardware and cables from the hardware store and anchored them to 4x4 posts set in concrete. Both sunsails are sturdy, well sewn. They add a splash of color, provide shade and help keep the rain away from the door. The built in curve fit the curve of our building. We chose a 12x12 shade and a 10x10 shade. Standard sizes…

Issue when it rains

I have used several different shade sails in the paste. We like them because they are an easy way to add shade. I previously owned the mesh type and they produced good shade. This time I decided to try a waterproof shade. The problem is when it rains. Since the sail is waterproof and there is no support in the center of the shade, water builds up in the shade putting a strain on the tie lines which have to be tightened each time it rains. There is a large water puddle sag in the shade and…
