Doesn't last and often has to be readjusted

The thing keeps the exact temperature terribly. Recalibration is constantly required. You can't set it up so that the stem and nut don't move and regulate the temperature to you. Very frustrating. I wanted this shaft length but I need it to last and not go down in size.

Pros
  • hands-free
Cons
  • old

Bought this for an AC compressor and dryer project for my car. worked great!

I had to put a new air conditioner in the car. With the help of YouTube and Rockauto, it was surprisingly easy. I used them to measure cold air coming out of car vents before and after installing a new compressor and air dryer. Very happy. it was big enough for me to read the needle.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • There are defects

Very poor performance

This rating applies to both original purchase and replacement. Advertised as water and heat resistant, but it is not. The first item was returned because the thermometer was fogged up by moisture and could not be read. The same happens with the replacement. Both also show signs of rust. It was within a month of use to measure the temperature of a hot water tank.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use

The plastic cover does not melt and calibrate out of the box

Well this is my first time using it and the plastic has melted. It's my fault for not reading that it was a plastic lid, but how stupid is it to put a plastic lid on a thermometer that's meant to stay in the pot. It melted during calibration, which wasn't calibrated out of the box but in a good amount. Entered at a boiling point of 195. Needless to say, it goes backwards. Oh, and it started melting at around 100 degrees.

Pros
  • Test, Measure & Inspect
Cons
  • Not fashionable

Not working or working slowly

Hello viewers! That's a good clinical thermometer. You can read, but unfortunately it doesn't work. I tested it with ice water, the temp started at 80F and then very, very, very slowly stopped at 42F. So while holding one thermometer, I pulled out my meat thermometer and put it in, it quickly dropped to 34 F while the other thermometer stayed the same. Discount 9 degrees. Well I hope this review helps others but no matter what you order online or even in a store you never know what you are…

Pros
  • Thermometer
Cons
  • Available in white only

The higher the temperature reading, the more inaccurate the thermometer. At 32 degrees, this Taylor thermometer is almost accurate, but at an actual 145 degrees, this thermometer only reads 130 degrees. It's convenient to use with a metal clip and doesn't require batteries, but the lack of precision makes it useless. most of time. It's fine if you're happy with 15-20 degree readings, but otherwise it's better to buy a digital thermometer or a thermometer with a very limited range.

Pros
  • Dial thermometer
Cons
  • Not as thick as others
