After about a month in our oven, the red marks faded to a brown color. They fade more and more with each use, so I assume they will be invisible after a few months.

I bought this oven thermometer because I was convinced that my oven was not at the right temperature. The Taylor Elite 603 oven thermometer confirmed my suspicions were correct and now the Taylor Elite allows me to adjust the oven settings to the desired temperature in the menu. Works perfectly!

After 3 days the glass became cloudy from baking for the holidays at this point I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THE OVEN TOP TEMP. I was learning to bake bread but my loaves burned. I bought this to check my oven temp and found my oven was at 50 degrees. Now my buns are perfectly browned. Then this thermometer seems to be quite accurate. I leave it attached to the oven rack next to the bread. It's easy enough to read through the oven door with a flashlight if the window is clean enough. marking is clear. I read reviews that such thermometers do not respond quickly enough.
