Tekpower TP13 40 Watt Soldering Station Review

Very bad soldering station. The tip is not properly tinned. And the company does NOT have any replacement tips of any kind. I found a way to salvage this bad station, I took it apart and removed the control board. I bought a good Weller SP25 soldering iron and soldered it into the socket. SEE APPENDIX. DO NOT buy this device unless you want to do what I did. It is best to start with a Weller soldering station. I'm not a noob, I've been a Motorola tech for over 30 years. Jim

First of all, I've been a Soldering Iron and Station Professional (PACE) for 50 years. A: This device is good and excellent for the price. A soldering pin is also often more expensive elsewhere. Tekpower is a new name to me, this is my first purchase from them so I might be a bit harsh on this review. They go out of their way to make it look and feel like the famous soldering station, it's good value for money and I would buy it again but some compromises have been made to bring it to this price point.
