Description of Enhanced SRH99001 Flex Ratchet Set by TEKTON - 4 Piece

Includes 1-pc. flex ratchet: 1/4 in. drive x 6 in.; 2-pc. long flex ratchets: 3/8 in. drive x 12 in. 1/2 in. drive x 14 in.; 1-pc. stubby ratchet: 3/8 in. drive x 4.5 in. 90-tooth gear produces a working swing arc of just 4 degrees. 180-degree, 9-position flex head lets you approach your work from any angle. Unlike conventional "low profile" designs that focus on controlling only the thickness of the head, we reduced the size in every dimension: height, width, and length. Classic pull-release drive tang retains sockets with a spring-actuated detent ball. Biased drive direction switch ensures the ratchet gear is engaged at all times, preventing slips or free-wheeling. Sleek and simple handle design offers comfort and control in a variety of hand positions. Fully polished exterior has a chrome plated finish that's corrosion-resistant and easy to wipe clean. Stated length is true working length, from center of drive tang to end of handle.

This is a little hidden gem!

These ratchets have been fantastic so far. Durable, dense and solid. I put some serious torque on the 3/8" and 1/2" (cheat rod I think) and they held! I find them just as good as my overpriced American ratchets but much cheaper. I'm starting to become a fan of instruments made in Taiwan by some of these "American" instrument makers. Tekton is one of them!

Pros
  • Classic pull-pull drive shaft holds heads with spring actuated ball detent
Cons
  • I will add later

Quite comparable to matco, mac or snapon.

In my 44 years of repairing I have had many tools. In my opinion, they occupy one of the first places. However, I haven't had them for a year and I'm no longer a wrench to earn a living, even though I support my own and my wife's. And by default, some of the kids seem sturdy and well built. 90 teeth isn't 120, but that's as close as you can get from what I've seen. You will not be disappointed with them. Although I didn't like the guide bushings and hadn't had them for a very long time, that's…

Pros
  • 90 tooth gear only offers 4 degree working angle
Cons
  • weak

Great value tools

I'm sure if I took them apart and really applied some TLC I'd make them buttery smooth . But to be honest, they're just beautiful right out of the box. They are not revolutionary, but "reasonable” in everything. These are examples of things that aren't perfect but are good enough and satisfying: balance, play, ratchet clicks, weight, shape, overall size. While I didn't find anything that made me think they were legendary, I didn't find anything disappointing either. These are good tools and…

Pros
  • Fully polished exterior with a chrome finish that resists corrosion and is easy to clean
Cons
  • Socket required
