It's not very sturdy, however it works well as a pointer. Just have to be careful and take careful precautions when collapsing the product. Other than that, it's a pointer.

This is awesome, and my 2nd graders love when I use it to point at things! The fact that it’s so long helps me ensure everybody in the room can see the board as I go over things with them. Would highly recommend!

This thing fit exactly what I needed in a pointer. The reason I needed this was to push a garage elevator button past the passenger side window from the driver side of my car. This telescopic pointer is stiff enough that if I pushed the elevator button, it wouldn't retract but still easily retract if I used my two hands. It has a good weight to it, which adds to the sturdiness which I love. It would probably hurt if I poked or whacked someone with it. I'm not a teacher and would not recommend…

We use these primarily for map finding for home school. It has good length and sturdy to accomplish what needs to be done for geography lessons.

Bought it as a gift for my professor. She is very pleased! When our classrooms are only with Apple TV instead of traditional projectors and screens, this is more welcomed than the laser pointers.

I like that it feels sturdy. I feel as if it will last. It wont stand up to sword fighting or poking others. If you use it for the intended use you should have it for a long time.
