Temank Extension Adaptor Female Connector Review

I have been installing solar for 15 years now. This product was poorly designed and caused delays for my installation team due to replacing the MC4 termination cables. The ends literally came loose with a slight tug. They weren't crimped properly. Garbage!

I bought this pair of cables to extend the connection between the solar panel and my power station. I found it worked right out of the box. I like that the cables are color coded black and white. All cable connections worked as expected. They just snapped into place with the cable coming out of my solar panel and also with my power station's MC4 cable connector. I just wish the price was a little cheaper.

I needed longer cables to place the solar panels in the sunniest part of the yard. The extra length gives me a few more hours in the sun before shade sets in. Easy to connect and disconnect. I was concerned that the extra 20 feet would reduce the capacity of the panels, but the reduction (if any) is imperceptible. Good quality. The delivery time is a bit long, but it was worth the wait. They were delivered a day before the stated date.

The product was exactly what I needed. In fact, the cables were long enough that I was able to cut them to the right length (minimizing cable length reduces I^2*R loss and improves performance). It's also a larger caliber than other sellers, which improves performance as well. Since they have connectors on both ends, splitting them in half left me enough cable to use with a different setup as the controllers require connections with bare and tinned wire ends. I ordered this set of 2 extensions to connect my Renogy Suitcase 200w portable solar panel to my truck/RV. The MC4 connectors mate perfectly and are easy to attach and detach even without using a special spade tool. I like that the wires are red and black for easy identification. 20 feet is a good length as I can place the solar panel in the front or back of the car when connected to the engine or house batteries. This product looks good but to me it's a bargain considering the cost of solar cables. I never connected them. I measured them and they were about 19'4" (19'4") - the best I could measure from end to end of the connectors. Nickels a day from each customer - only likely more in this case. I even tried to be generous with my measurements as it's difficult to get perfectly straight measurements.
