Disappointing Results: Avoid This Multimeter

As a loyal customer in the Tools and Home Improvement category, I was disappointed by the performance of this pocket multimeter. As a result of my tests, I determined that it consistently provided inaccurate readings. While it may be affordable, the risk of faulty measurements makes it not worth the investment.

Pros
  • Affordable
Cons
  • Inaccurate readings

Ideal for basic home projects

I have just bought my dream home, a century old Victorian house. I'm working on some less than stellar electrical and upgrades, installing new light fixtures etc. It was so easy to use to make sure my cords were WORKING but also the power was turned off when needed. I replaced a few outlets, a fan, and a ceiling light. I also confirmed with ease that my doorbell wires were unplugged. It's small, light and works great! It's perfect for the beginner and does exactly what I need.

Pros
  • Tester
Cons
  • Some little things

Very small, useful around the house

I've had several of these little multimeters over the years. Extech makes a pretty good tool that I used until it broke. The big problem with this type of meter is that the cables are not detachable. If they are damaged or broken, they are harder to replace. However, that's my only real complaint. It is an automatic range finder that tests conventional AC and DC current, resistance and continuity, and also includes capacitance, electric field and frequency. It is powered by a small CR batteryโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Tools and household items
Cons
  • Out of date
