SHIT charger, SHIT batteries!

I used them ONCE. And I charged them with a charger SOLD by TENERGY. These batteries will not charge above 1.4V which means they are DEAD. (A 1.5V battery needs to be above 1.5V, say about 1.57V to be usable.) I am very disappointed, what a waste of money!

Pros
  • Large Capacity - The Tenergy NiCd battery has a capacity of 5000mAh, which means longer use without recharging.
Cons
  • Short manual

The manual specifically says only for Nimx batteries. However, this package was offered with 4 NiCd batteries. Now I feel like I can't use nickel cadmium batteries. The rest of the charger works great with all Nihm batteries.

Pros
  • Save Money Eco-Friendly - Save money with Tenergy's high-quality D-type rechargeable batteries and charger T9688. Tenergy NiMH D batteries can be charged up to 1000 times and practically pay for themselves after 10 cycles. Reduce your carbon footprint by limiting the waste generated by single-use batteries. Switch. Save on computer. Reuse. Recharge your batteries with Tenergy.
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Time will tell in household goods

Charger and batteries just received so too new for a long term review. I can say I have 2 concerns. First, the device emits an odor resembling something like burning plastic or possibly some type of chemical. The smell does not fill the room and is only noticeable next to the device, but it is still annoying. Second, the charger and batteries were purchased as a set. The batteries supplied with the charger are Nickel Cadmium (NiCd). The charger's instruction manual specifically states that ONLY

Pros
  • for home use. With so many charging options, the T9688 acts as the most versatile battery charger in the home. For added convenience, the built-in USB port (Output: DC 5V, 500mA) on the back of the charger can also power portable electronic devices. The charger is backed by Tenergy's 12-month warranty, so you can rest assured that your electronics will continue to be powered by Tenergy.
Cons
  • Damaged
