Review on Tenergy Rechargeable Batteries Charger Battery by Saundra Maybank

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Time will tell in household goods

Charger and batteries just received so too new for a long term review. I can say I have 2 concerns. First, the device emits an odor resembling something like burning plastic or possibly some type of chemical. The smell does not fill the room and is only noticeable next to the device, but it is still annoying. Second, the charger and batteries were purchased as a set. The batteries supplied with the charger are Nickel Cadmium (NiCd). The charger's instruction manual specifically states that ONLY Nickel-Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) batteries should be charged. Why choose a package deal that doesn't go together? It's like buying a new petrol car and having the dealer fill it up with diesel fuel.

Pros
  • for home use. With so many charging options, the T9688 acts as the most versatile battery charger in the home. For added convenience, the built-in USB port (Output: DC 5V, 500mA) on the back of the charger can also power portable electronic devices. The charger is backed by Tenergy's 12-month warranty, so you can rest assured that your electronics will continue to be powered by Tenergy.
