3/8 " stainless steel nuts didn't cut

Made a dent in the nut but didn't help at all. Pretty better than mild steel. If you're cutting stainless steel, don't worry.

Pros
  • Easy to use

  • Some cons

Thread doesn't hold

I used it to split a nut, after the 3rd use on the same nut the threads caught like they were coming off. (Bad.) This made it easier to remove the nut. Doesn't work well in tight spaces. Ended up lapping nuts in tight spots.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Some flaws

Works well. on tire and wheel tools

Works well, good value, delivered quickly. One catch is that since the tool is metric, I believe the allen wrench required for the adjustment must also be metric as I have two complete sets of allen wrenches and could not find the right size. (One day I'll get an El Cheapo kit just for that purpose.) Overall I'm happy, it did what I needed, removed the corroded brake line, big nut. Many Thanks.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Reliable

They look great on my shop wall

I had a frozen 15mm nut on my Jeep's suspension that I had to split to remove the strut connection. I used a larger splitter and deformed the cutting edge of the splitter instead of cutting into the nut to split it. It's been a few years, but I've used nut splitters many times when I was wrenching for a living, so I know how to use them. . I ended up hanging both fragments in my shop as a reminder of the Wall of Shame. I think I'll just throw in some Dremel cutting discs. It seems to be working

Uh, where to start?

The nut is located on the rear tie rod of the Linclon LS. The larger cutter was used first, it caused a crease in the nut, but the internal blade-to-blade attachment broke, allowing the cutter to fall out of the splitter assembly. Then the guide pin broke and the knife did not go in the desired cutting direction. I gave up and continued with the smaller incisor, which actually did more damage to the nut than the larger incisor. Note that the same events (damage) occurred on the smaller blade in
