Great cheap connection.

We use these for snowmobile communications, good range with longer antenna and you can program your own (licensed) channels for private communications.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Update available

Costs over price

Nice little radio, and even better if you're spending $22 to buy a Btech programming cable with an FTDI chip because the cable that comes with it has a manually installed driver for each use needed.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Disappear

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Hard to beat for the price.

Quite happy with the radio so far, easy to program. I highly recommend the n-771 antenna and high capacity battery (3800mah) if you want to use an 8w radio.

Pros
  • Excellent for me
Cons
  • Communication with the seller

Good radio. Can't beat the price.

I use it for paragliding. Has good range. Works well. Cheap enough that if it gets lost or broken it's not the end of the world. The only downside is that the presets have to be programmed using a computer and a special cable. You can manually enter settings that remain in effect even after the radio is switched off. However, you cannot assign these settings to a preset without a computer. cHIRP is the best radio programming software. You need an original Baofeng cable.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
