My daughter's new puppy has already torn 3 of them. He is fascinated by the waterfall for our pond. I keep ordering because it makes a huge difference in keeping the pond clean and the water clear.

It works. I buy a new one every year. He catches everything that the filter pump sends him. It's very easy to flush, which I do every week, it depends on your area and the amount of waste. I live in New England so pollen and algae are often a problem so I just rinse and it helps clean it up easily.

This filter works great, can be cleaned and seems to last at least two or three seasons. I clean the filter with a garden hose once a week from around March to October. When the cold sets in I remove all filter material and just let the water run so the water is oxygenated for the frogs and anything else that enters the pond.

This product is supplied without instructions or comments. They don't tell you what size pump to use. They don't tell you where to get a pillow to keep the water from running out of the pond. They don't tell you where to get a charcoal bag or what size to use, nothing. As a result, the waterfall only works for a few hours, then the water flows out of the pond again and the flow rate decreases. Not sure if it needs a more powerful pump or what. You need to communicate.

I love this waterfall/filter. It's pretty easy to set up and connect. It's a lot quieter than the fountain I had before, but seems to aerate even more water than the fountain. The waterfall/filter comes with a mechanical foam filter and I ordered a biological filter media. Eventually I will replace the boxed mechanical/biological filter I have in my pond with a good pre-filter and see if the new waterfall/filter can keep the pond clean - the biggest difference between the two filters is that…
