In general, I really like Teva shoes. Actually this is the 4th pair of Teva water shoes (all different models) that we have bought for our son. The previous 3 were great. Unfortunately, this pair is far from perfect and unwearable. It's just that these shoes cause pain from chafing your Achilles tendon. I wish I had more faith in the negative reviews that mentioned this. I advise you to do it now. Almost all of the negative reviews relate to the same friction/pain issue. I doubt this applies to

My son fell in love with these shoes from day one. He loves that he can put them on but having the elastic drawstring ensures they fit snugly and always notices how comfortable they are. Bought these for my son for a month trip to the Caribbean. He wanted something he could carry and walk to a waterfall, river, and ocean.
