Description of The Detail Guardz - Dirt Lock Car Wash Bucket Insert (Blue)

Helps keep your car wash water extremely clean to reduce swirl marks and scratches. Flexible rubber locking tabs allow for a snug fit in nearly every 3 gallon, 4 gallon, 5 gallon, 6 gallon, 7 gallon and 8 gallon round wash buckets. Dirt Lock venturi filters and valves pump debris quickly to the bottom of the bucket to separate the dirt away from the clean water. Fresh water return system allows only cleaner water to pass above the screen. Powered by the pumping motion of your hand in the bucket, you can feel the suction pulling the debris from your mitt and down under the bucket.

Works well. : Car Wash

This is my first and only sand guard so I have nothing that compares other than not using any guard at all. I've only used it once (in my dishwashing bucket) but it worked really well considering how much stuff was underneath when I took it out of the bucket after my new car's first wash. I appreciate the little finger slots in the middle of the casing because they were important when it came time to remove the casing from the bucket. I also really appreciate that they made it fit in the many…

Floats on top of the bucket. 0/10

This thing likes to float to the top when I want to soak my glove. The 2 bucket method is outdated anyway and not 100% scratch proof. Use a bucket of soap and a used glove to make it 100%. I recommend buying a pack of 6 Cobra Shine & Buff waterless wash towels. and use the one-bucket method. You have a bucket full of soapy water full of mittens or towels that are only used once without rinsing. Once you've used a towel, set it aside and grab a new one. Fold towels in quarters on 2 sides to get…

Definitely the best design!

They're best at keeping the sand on the ground. The new updated design works great in my five gallon buckets and stays in place all the way to the bottom. I can still pull it up and down to flush out the bucket. Helps keep my new car scratch free. Watch the video to see how well they work. I like to use more water in my rinse bucket and take a few extra seconds to make sure the glove is rinsed well before returning to my wash bucket. I bought three: red, blue and black to match my buckets…

Absolutely great! MUCH better than others.

I bought them and the swivel guard at the same time, sent them back and bought more. They beat them in every way except price, but they're worth it. They are made of much stronger and heavier plastic, have finger grips, taller feet and no flat top surfaces that hold a bit of sand like the "swirl" fenders. They go perfectly with my orange buckets from the big hardware stores and the side bumpers keep them down. does exactly what it's supposed to, not just what it's supposed to.

Pros
  • Test for one year
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Goodbye Grit Guard

Let's face it, the Grit Guard was the first on the market, but its design has never improved. For this reason I bought two devices of the latest generation. (yellow) and two from the current generation. (Gold). I run a high end mobile detailing business 5-7 days a week. I see 3-5+ vehicles at a time and am currently using OP Eco Wash (formerly ONR) with BBS or BRS. I run a dirt lock in every bucket, why not? My first generation yellow Dirt Lock pops up from time to time, but I don't care. I…
