    —NOT— 80% wool for Active

From the Revain product description. "Most merino wool thermal socks are 50-60% merino wool, ours are 80% merino wool." These socks are 60% merino wool (I guess it feels even less) The label says 60%.

Not good for 30 degree weather

Do not order if you plan to be in 30-35 degree weather. I was in New York this week and my toes were so numb! Even my girlfriend in boots they didn't fit her. Luckily we stumbled across hand warmers - I had to buy 12 pairs of these so we could both walk the rest of the way, slip them into our shoes near our toes, and finally we could feel our feet again.

    No or very little wool

I'm not a weaver, but I've been buying merino wool socks from REI & smart Wool for 20 years. They don't even remotely resemble the texture or finish of Smart Wool - the texture is slippery and rough and feels a lot like acrylic to me. I figured the only way to test this without spending more money was to pull on some filament and bring a flame to them - the filament would melt, not catch fire. This leads me to believe that they either contain no wool at all or only a very small amount of wool.

"60% merino wool " is more like "60% faux wool ". LEGS ARE COLD!

It can't be real wool. 1: They were less effective at keeping my feet warm than my polyester/cotton socks of the same size, shape, and thickness, and 2: Wool drapes/doesn't look like these socks drape/look. Had it not been for "60% merino wool" in the description I would have given them four stars as they were cheaply and decently made, packaged and shipped. A shame. By returning all six I bought they lose any profit they may have short-sightedly made.

Very satisfied! At first I was dissatisfied.

I am very happy with these socks! so is my friend! After washing and drying a couple of them. They dried up and looked so small. However, they do stretch and are very good socks. I work in the field service. I talk to workshops and farmers. My feet often stood on cold concrete. Then in the car to warm up and my feet often start to sweat. Then back into the cold. Oh, it's a terrible thing to try and control. These socks kept my feet dry. You never froze or sweated. I actually wore them for 2…

    Heel wear on small size

The quality of this product is not very stable. I bought these socks in medium and small. Both were gifts to relatives. The medium is holding up well after wearing them for more than two months. The thickness of the hair on the heel has decreased, which is to be expected, but within reason. When I put my hand inside the sock in the heel position and stretch the material, I don't see my skin the way it should. If I do the same with the small size I bought I can see the skin on my arm through the

These socks smell really, really bad!

I ordered a package for me and one for my husband on a hike and as soon as I received them I noticed a strong smell so I let it air out for a few days and then packed them in our pockets. BIG MISTAKE! When we arrived in Iceland I noticed that ALL our clothes had the same horrible smell and since we couldn't wash them we had to endure this stench for 10 days! The worst thing is that although your feet and shoes are comfortable, they smell like rotten eggs so you have to take a shower to get rid…

Worm and cosiness good for active people

This Christmas I bought 4 packs of different sizes to stuff stockings.1) They are warm. We use them for skiing and snowboarding, ice fishing and early morning biking. They keep my toes roasted. 2) One of the reviewers mentions that they are slippery inside. While true, it goes away after wearing (wearing 4-5 days) 3) Socks get warmer after wearing them for about a week. Wool seems to be losing its luster, for lack of a better term. Socks become fluffy and some balls of yarn become ruffled. Then

Keeps my feet warm in Scandinavia winter

First order a size down from the size stated in the order. I had to exchange mine for a smaller size even though my shoe size was in the plus size category. But other than that, these socks are awesome! I have poor circulation in my legs and feet so my feet get cold easily even though I live in Phoenix and every time I go north in the snow, or even just under 40 degrees, my feet get cold enough to hurt. I wore these socks every day on a trip to Iceland, Norway and Sweden in January and not only
