Mercury or alcohol glass thermometers are difficult to read. This is a "slice from above" and clearly visible from a distance. The fact that they come with extra batteries is also a plus. (I can't tell how long the batteries will last if the device is always on.) I will be ordering two more.

I think you get what you pay for, I always check my thermometers for ice water. should be @ 32. Look what they give me, they BOTH deviate by more than 3 degrees although it doesn't seem like much, one of them goes up and down so I can't easily add or decrease to adjust. I spend a lot of time in my aquariums. In any case, they should work as advertised.

I bought these because they were cheap and wanted to compare them to my other aquarium thermometers. Two sensors are placed on opposite ends of my 75 gallon tank and their readings are consistently within 0.1 degrees of each other. They also read the old-school mercury thermometers in the tank to the nearest degree. I will buy more.

Disadvantages - It takes a while for the temperature to change. Looks like you're using it to add water. Note, however, that the change may take 30 seconds. The screen stopped working and registered 3 times when turned on and off. Very disappointing. Pros - The other still works. Seems pretty accurate. Good price. The suction works. Easy to read. Supplied with batteries.
