Good for the price, my instrument is outside of rated accuracy within +-4.5F as tested on a thermocouple and high end portable infrared. The LCD display is a nice touch, but the laser diffuser is my favorite element of the device as it provides a very accurate visual reference to the metering cone.

I have found this temp gun to be at least 3 or 4 degrees off at times. On several occasions I have found that the gun reads a significantly higher temperature than other (more reliable) thermometers. Often, measuring the same point twice, only a few seconds apart, shows a difference of up to 4 degrees. I just missed the return window so I'm sticking with this paperweight. It's useless to me if I can't trust what it's telling me.

I bought it as a gift for my stepfather. He owns a small air conditioning business. It uses them to measure the temperature of electrical devices as well as temperature. Air escapes from the ventilation slots. The reason he asked for this model is that it provides additional readings or more important data that he needs. He was very happy with this item and said he uses it often. I've even used it around the house a few times and it's pretty accurate and easy to use.

I bought this to find hot spots on the grill! I knew it heated unevenly and now I know the right burner is about 50 degrees hotter than the left! With so many infrared thermometers on the market especially those from Revain I jumped at the chance to buy this one because I Really liked the color LCD display. Screen functions, settings and that its temperature range is so wide that I use it for automotive mechanics. Update January 2020 Shelf Life . I just used this thermometer to find hot spots last week after installing a gas heater in my garage. I've owned it for over three years and it still works perfectly. This is an all plastic construction that feels a bit cheap in the hands but is nice and solid. It is accurate and measures higher temperatures than its cheaper counterparts.
