Used primarily as a candle warmer, not a mug. I put used candles aside until I found these warmer ones. Despite the lack of temperature control, the platform, like some others, feels weight to activate the heating mechanism. I can now leave the candle on the platform and plug it into a smart outlet so I can turn it on and off via SmartLife/Alexa.

I decided to keep my old Mr. Coffee but it doesn't meet the requirements so I went back to my old one. It won't keep a regular-sized coffee mug warm enough under any circumstances - probably because it cools down every time you pick up a mug, rather than staying hot all the time. It depends on the pressure to activate the button on the bottom for heating. If there isn't enough pressure, then it won't heat.

This mug warmer does exactly what I wanted it to do: keep coffee at a comfortable temperature from 5am to 11am (yes, my ceramic coffee mug). Sitting on a heating pad for 6 hours does not change the flavor (like heating in a microwave). I appreciate the auto off when I pick up the mug and auto on when I put the mug back on. This is a great item for your office. Especially if, like me, you like to graze here and drink hot tea or coffee in the morning and not all at once. Anyone who said that this product makes cold coffee as hot as straight from the pot is wrong. It's very warm and not hot at all. Much better than cold. The secret lies in those domed bottom cups we all have; instead they should be: FLAT. Right now I'm experimenting with stuffing this little dome at the bottom with aluminum foil and see if I get hot coffee. Did anything but isolation. . .
