I don't think you should remove the bracket from the floor without replacing the flange gasket. Why find out the old one died after you're ready to finish the job? No expensive item to ensure the installation is tight.

Works like a charm. Installation took less than a minute. Seals the toilet at the flange, preventing leaks and odors around the toilet floor. The product smelled bad from the packaging, but it could be the compound used in its manufacture. There was no smell after installation.

This flange has a lip to start flow into the drain pipe. I used it instead of the factory one on a new Dometic toilet I installed. Dometic didn't have a lip. So I left it as a backup and installed Thetford. This is an excellent product.

We used this at Thetford Agua Magic in our Airstream trailer. It was the right size and worked well without the mess of a regular wax ring. highlighted. Note that there are many kits that include floor gaskets, toilet screws, and/or leaf gaskets. The leaf seal is a ring seal that fits inside the toilet bowl and is visible to keep water in the bowl. If you only want the gasket to secure the toilet to the floor, get one.
