The seal doesn't last long.

I have replaced this gasket on my Style II toilet 3 times in the last few years. The gasket doesn't seem to hold water in the bowl after 6-8 months of continuous use. It could be a design flaw or inferior materials, but I have had to replace this seal on many other Type II toilet vans. Hopefully Thetford fixes this issue soon!

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Quick and easy showroom repair

Just what I needed to fix our toilet on wheels while on the go. Fast, easy transaction sent to our campsite. Next time I would order the one with a spare plastic ball valve for a few euros more. While you've disassembled everything, it makes sense to replace the ball valve at the same time. However, the seals fitted and solved our problem!

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Trade in available

Toilet works like new again

toilet works like new again. installation instructions. Apply some plumbing grease to the seal that goes into the bowl and lubricate the ball seal shaft with the same grease. You will thank me if you double seal life (especially in hard water areas) and ball valve function. Empty your black tank and lift the toilet off the ground. It is MUCH easier to work on it this way.

Easy installation for toilets and parts

This is a must if you have a new Thetford porcelain toilet the seals fail after two years. Easy to install, this kit solves the problem of keeping piping in the bowl. If you want to swap it out, I recommend installing a Shark Bite check valve in the line going to the toilet while your water is shut off. This is a half inch PEX valve that saves you from shutting off your RV's entire water supply the next time the toilet needs maintenance!

Pros
  • Excellent design

  • Flaws

Fixed empty bowl issue

I think this is a common problem with RV toilets that have ceramic bowls. I tried lubricating the original valve with no modifications, thinking the old one was dry. A new one came in, now it holds the water perfectly. I wonder how long this will take. I didn't notice any damage to the old one, so I'm writing it off as a design flaw in the gasket. It wasn't bad to set up. It took about 15 minutes and only had to remove the bowl, not the entire toilet. Just glad to have a working, odorless…

Flush toilet

Nothing special here. The toilet in my RV stopped holding water after about ten years. It was cheap and easy to install. The instructions are incomprehensible, so don't even bother. Just look on YouTube. I didn't clean the whole toilet. I just unscrewed the two screws on the back that connect the bowl to the base. I left all the water lines connected. Once the parts were separated, it only took a minute to swap out the gaskets and put everything back together. The total time was less than half…

Includes ball and body gasket.

Product goes well with my Thetford Aqua Style II while using Thetford Seal Lubricant and Conditioner. So far I'm only giving 4 stars until I see how long the fillings last. I also bought a case gasket and bolt set (42115). If you don't need screws, this kit includes a ball seal along with a body seal. Save extra money and return shipping by purchasing this kit for both seals. Both seals are not listed in the description, but are present. (The bottom green gasket in the picture is an inverted…

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • The list is long.

No need to remove the entire toilet

Much easier than I thought. The entire toilet did not have to be removed, only the drain seal was renewed. Simply loosen the two bolts/screws on the back connecting the bowl to the base, rotate the bowl slightly and lift up and out of the way. Still connected to the waterline from the base but there is more than enough room to remove the old gasket, wipe the gasket face down and insert the new gasket. Align the bowl with the base and replace the screws. This took about 15 minutes. Works well…

JUST DO IT. YOU WILL NOT RUDE THIS.

Fitted into our Thetford toilet was very easy. If you work around the house and can remove the toilet, you can easily replace this gasket. Be aware that not all Thetford toilets use two bolts and a 'twistlock' to hold the top and bottom of the toilet together. I saw a YouTube video showing a two-bolt version of the lock and was ready to attack my toilet as such. It turned out that my two toilets were held together with four bolts. Super easy to take apart and put back together. Also remember…
