🧹 Thetford StorMate Broom 36772: Extendable & Collapsible Broom for RV, Marine & Home Use Review

Bought this for our RV. I used it for the second time this weekend (yes, only the second time) and it broke. The little gray part that you twist to secure the extended handle just twists and turns. It will not tighten to hold the handle in place. And the 2 small pieces of bristles on the broom head don't snap so it keeps folding back together. I had to use duct tape to secure it to get through our week. Don't waste money.

I bought this broom for our small trailer and I liked the design to keep it in a small space. It arrived today and the one side of the bristles that needs to unfurl is flexible enough that it doesn't snap into place like the other side. If you stash the cane to full size, it's so cheap that it will bend as you use it, and it certainly won't last more than a few hikes. Didn't need a premium broom or anything, but it really is a piece of junk.

Big fan of Thetford products but this has to be the worst product I have bought in a long time. The shaft is super cheap and flimsy with too much flex. Telescoping points are poor and slide out easily. This product cannot be used for its intended purpose, even for light sweeping. The product failed on first use, and not because of a defect, but simply because of the overall poor quality. This is a very nice broom, useful for camping. I need a small one for portability - it folds to a length of 27 inches - but extends to a full size broom (it's 50 inches long when stretched). It even comes with a mini dust bag. It seems to be a good all-purpose broom. I would recommend it. I was so excited when I received this broom. I found that the hanging end of the handle was broken off and was dangling in the box (I glued it), there was no scoop (I didn't need it), there was no telescoping mechanism so it didn't hold in the extended position (yes , I needed it!), and the brush folding mechanism that held the brushes was broken.
