Inaccurate and Disappointing Thermometer

This thermometer left me with a bad taste in my mouth. The readings were inconsistent and often incorrect which caused multiple mishaps during my home brewing process. The one good thing about this product is that it was easy to use. Unfortunately, the cons far outweigh the pros. I would not recommend this thermometer to anyone in the home and kitchen brewing community.

Pros
  • High level of accuracy for precise temperature measurements
Cons
  • Requires frequent calibration to maintain accuracy

Never worked properly

Why don't they measure humidity accurately at all? They say it takes some time for the instrument to get accurate readings, but I've tried 2 and none of them have stabilized. I brought a certified meter from work to compare and it didn't even come up to 10%. It's no more accurate than a $10 toy.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Not bad, but one-point calibration.

Pretty good device. HOWEVER, the calibration is a SINGLE POINT CALIBRATION. It is not span calibrated but calibrated at room temperature and 50%. If you want a calibrated thermometer that's calibrated over a specific temperature range (think regulated industries), this won't work. But it works great as a benchmark. Also, there is 1 year 7 months left until the calibration date. I think I'll buy a new one after that period, I'm not sure if I can send it in for calibration.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
