add Note: Thorated tungsten is slightly radioactive, so inhaling the grinding dust can be harmful. If you need them, they work fine, but if you don't need them, it's better to use Cerry or Lantin electrodes.

The tungsten itself appears to be of good quality. I've used them for 3/16"- 3/8" plates and standard wall pipe (both carbon steel). The reason for deducting two stars is the paintwork. I've never had paint on an electrode that melts and contaminates my collets and gas lenses/collet bodies. For other buyers, I recommend removing the paint on the sides and leaving only the red dot at the end to help determine the type of tungsten.
