Will definitely go with my Rode

This is a really strong professional arrow. Externally, he is much closer to Miki's yellow tech arm than anything else. Just check the base - there is a small screw in the base to adjust the tension. Do it and it definitely works perfectly.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Only available in black

There are much better options - don't buy this

like many others i got this hoping it would be good. Looks good but the quality is terrible. Mine broke the first time I tried to tighten the lever. It's functional but not great. UPDATE 9/9/20 E: It doesn't even work anymore. It's garbage. Buy something else. Demotion to 1 start (out of 2)

Pros
  • quick change
Cons
  • there are flaws

I was looking for a really reliable and powerful microphone arm. For me that is everything. The base is very important as it has a wide bottom to make the mount more stable. The depth of the mounting plate is also great, as I can easily move this boom from the conference room to my desk. The table in the room is 2 inches thick and my table that you see in the picture is 1/4 inch thick.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised

Can't handle Samson G Track Pro

I wanted to love this stand. I love its mounts, both the clamp and the screw that goes through the table. The arm rotates 360 degrees. The design is beautiful. But it doesn't do the job properly. I received both the stand and microphone on April 23, 2020. With limited use during this time, the turnbuckles and spring-loaded cable inside the stand failed. Also, the two clips that hold the USB cable in the long slots on the back of the stand kept popping open. I was bringing the mic closer to my…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Visually a really nice boom. In terms of functionality, it doesn't look like a regular arrow, so forget about it. It's more like Set and Forget. If you need a linkage that you can adjust freely, use the standard linkage. The internal cable can easily break from what I've read, so it's best to loosen everything, place it at the right angle, and tighten it into a fixed position. Release the handle closest to the table so you can move the arrow sideways. What I did was install it through a through

Pros
  • Not only usable for the intended purpose
Cons
  • Poor instructions

Not suitable for Shure SM7B: too weak and disturbing loops.

I bought this for my Shure SM7B microphone and sent it back immediately. for reference, the SM7B weighs 1.6 lbs but is within the weight limit). It was as tight as I could get with the tension arm. Second, the loop at the end of the mic is too big and blocks using a standard XLR cable with my mic. What I mean is that you can plug in the jack but there is a lot of side loading on the jack and you can no longer rotate the mic. Other booms can also have this problem with the SM7B (like the RODE…

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Hands down the best studio mic boom ever.

I really like this microphone arm. It's lightweight, easy to adjust, and moves silently. It's hard to find an arrow as well made as this one. No spring mount is used, the main source of tension comes from a braided steel wire that runs throughout the boom and across each pivot. And you adjust each joint with as much tension as you want. If you like moving it up and down that's fine, if you prefer the sweet spot and don't want to lose it that's fine too! The only downside is the way it works…

Pros
  • Ease of use
Cons
  • Functionality

This mic stand will last around 2-3 weeks before you notice poor quality and workmanship. I bought it in June and it broke in early August. Used 3-4 times a week at night for 2-3 hours. You need to tighten the screws to keep the microphone stand from falling off. Once you do this, the mic stand will break after a short while if you move it sideways. The cable broke so the stand no longer held the mic. Pros: None Cons: 1. The clips holding the cable didn't work right away. You didn't click…

Set it and forget it (pros and cons)

I was hesitant to buy this lever because some reviews said the tension wire inside the lever breaks easily when you move it frequently. But then I thought, well, the purpose of a mic boom is to set it up and just leave it in the most comfortable position for the user, so I don't have to worry about that issue. Needless to say I ended up buying it so here are the pros and cons. Pros: It has a very solid base that sits beautifully on any table, no matter how thick or thin. Brackets and visible…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Piggy bank price
