Works fine - spares

I bought this for my 2009 Polaris Ranger 700 crew. In my experience it fitted well and it was fairly easy to get the right resistance reading with a voltmeter.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • So far so good

Don't waste your money

After installation it worked for about 2 minutes and the voltage was not registered. I took it off and it fell apart. When you buy OEM electronics, you get what you pay for!

Pros
  • handy thing
Cons
  • Will be made

The output voltage needs to be adjusted to the correct level

The TPS worked very well after correct voltage adjustment. It took the Polaris control module 5-10 minutes to recognize it and get the motor running properly. Top speed after TPS failure was 20 mph. Now you can accelerate to 45 miles per hour.

Pros
  • Positive only
Cons
  • Interval

TPS is dead, ready to go

TPS is nothing more than a potentiometer - a variable resistor that takes a 5VDC reference from the ECO and returns a voltage to the ECO representing that throttle position. This TPS is an open circuit. The resistance between the black and yellow wires should be between 4kΩ and 6kΩ - that's many megohms. Zero quality control - send back.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • I'll add later
