Description of Thule 565 Thru Ride Cycle Carrier

Fit type: Universal Fit. One-handed throw-hood design fits 12 mm to 20 mm thru-axles and 9 mm quick-release hubs (with included adapter). Easier bike loading thanks to expanding wide-jaw clamp that accommodates a bike's thru-axle, with no loose parts. Ergonomic precision dial ensures a secure grip by optimizing clamping pressure on thru-axles. Also suits bikes equipped with disc brakes. Maximum weight of 17 kg per bike.

Disappointing Cycle Carrier for Motorcycle Enthusiasts

Based on my observations, this carrier is difficult to install and even harder to use. The automotive-grade materials may provide durability, but the functionality is severely lacking. The only upside is that it securely holds the bike once it's finally on - but the frustration of getting it there may not be worth it.

Pros
  • Easy to install and use
Cons
  • Requires a roof rack to use, which can add additional expense

Do not buy from this foreign supplier.

I had to return because the bracket would not attach to my car's cross members even though it was listed as a good fit. The cost of returning the item exceeded the purchase price. Over $200. So beware buyers.

Pros
  • Bluetooth headsets
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised

Might STILL be the best option

Yes, it's functional, it gets the job done. However, I'm not impressed with a few features. The fact that the axle is getting stuck worries me in the long run. The axle is not designed for installation without tires, it does not tension and does not deflect the shock absorber. Yes it is safe because it is pinched and cannot rotate. This Thruride has NO hardware to attach to a rectangular bar (slotted version only). No, where did I see this detail! The box is very visible, if you are a seller I…
