Tough, reliable and expensive, but all Thule devices are.

They work well and are easy to use. I don't think I would be comfortable putting more than one paddle in each. There is room as it can accommodate a very thick paddle/paddle but I don't want them rubbing and would make the mistake of being overly careful with my gear.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Very expensive

Perfect for kayak, canoe and SUP racks.

Slightly odd design of these bars with a lot of play which then needs repairing (if you don't do this they can scratch the roof of the car). However, it works great. I have a solid wood paddle for the Greenland kayak and it holds it securely without denting the paddle's soft wood so I don't need it to run at an angle in my car. It's always the way I button it when I arrive at my destination. I have longer bolts so I can use them with my BMW's factory carrier.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Does the job best in accessories

This makes it easy to transport the whole blades if you have a small car. It works with multiple paddles, but I've only tried two. Very quick and secure attachment to my aerobar. The only reason I'm confused is that after about five uses, the cable's plastic coating began to crack. Once the paddle is secured there are two notches where a loose cable can be inserted to prevent it from flying. I feel like they could have made the notch a little bigger. I'm not sure if the cable is stainless…

Hyundai Santa Fe works handlebars are difficult to size. Good

. They fit these poles so don't worry when you order them. Also something neither Thule nor any of the resellers make clear, although they use hand tight t-nuts to mount to your crossbars, if you also buy additional lock barrels they will not only lock paddles or other bars to your car, but will do so the mount REALLY attaches to your car as well so they are not easy to be stolen. Without those Thule lock barrels, anyone passing by could just unscrew the nuts and run away with not only your…

Pros
  • . Easy to use.
Cons
  • . Minor issues.

You need castle cores. You can use it as a ski carrier

I bought this product with no intention of using it as a paddle holder. Instead, I planned to use it as a cheap shovel or ax mount to add some strength to my then-bare roof rack. BUT after experimenting a bit I found that it works great as a ski carrier. The fastening system is simple and reliable. The braided cord and rubber handle are very durable. The only thing I would change is to require the use of locking cores. The standard (coreless) system lacks grip strength after many uses, causing…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • There is one negative point

Great addition to the trunk

I have used this product all summer to transport WW kayak paddles and it has worked (almost) perfectly. Another reviewer mentioned that the cable cover came off - I didn't have this problem, but did notice some scraping when inserting and removing the cable from the holder (that's a really nice design, btw). I was concerned that the cable might scrape enough to loosen the cable in the mount. So when I pop it in or out of the mount I take some slack to attach it to another part of the cable and…
