You need castle cores. You can use it as a ski carrier

I bought this product with no intention of using it as a paddle holder. Instead, I planned to use it as a cheap shovel or ax mount to add some strength to my then-bare roof rack. BUT after experimenting a bit I found that it works great as a ski carrier. The fastening system is simple and reliable. The braided cord and rubber handle are very durable. The only thing I would change is to require the use of locking cores. The standard (coreless) system lacks grip strength after many uses, causing the cable to move slightly even when in the "locked" position. The use of locking bars keeps the entire system in place; including external wing nuts by collapsible tabs to prevent unscrewing. Overall a very good design but if it relies so heavily on lock core availability then the price should be a bit less. With the handle and locks, you're looking for a $100 setup for something advertised as $60.

  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • There is one negative point
