Works great with my Samsung Galaxy S8+ :) no problem (well until I rooted it but after I uninstalled it worked great again ). I believe the root problem was with my phone's ROM and not the cable.

I bought it to use with my Macbook and TV. It worked well for two weeks before it started to disconnect intermittently when plugged in and stopped working completely after three weeks. I have never moved the cable other than plugging and unplugging it on my laptop and testing the cable with different connectors to see if it stops working. Save yourself the headache and buy another one.

The cable arrived, I opened it up, plugged the HDMI end into an open port on my TV/monitor, plugged the other end into my laptop (Microsoft Surface Book 3) and, HUGE, the connection worked. There were no signs of a bad connection, nothing to suggest the cable was about to fail, nothing bad at all. I've learned to have rather low expectations when it comes to technical devices, but this was a very pleasant surprise.

The cable can make a working connection between laptops with Thunderbolt 3 ports and 4K external displays, but it is never recognized as a Thunderbolt 3 device. The display's bandwidth appeared to be limited to 4K at 30P with no HDR, although both the laptop and display support 4K at 60P with HDR.
