To protect the storage shed

I built the steel storage shed from the kit on a gravel lot. I used these anchors in the shed to secure it. They were easy to install and kept the barn safe through several thunderstorms.

Pros
  • Worth your money
Cons
  • Available in white only

Tethered snails are good for tie down

Snails are a bit rough but great for the purpose. They will prevent our building from being blown away in windy weather. strong enough and easy to install even if your soil is clay (like ours) if you dampen it a little to soften it.

Excellent anchor. on Tie-Downs

I bought these tie downs to hold my boat (and trailer) in the event of a hurricane. They screw into the ground relatively easily and once installed they lock. If you hit rocks in the ground they can be a pain to screw in, but if you can find good, compacted, clean soil to stick them in, they'll hold anything.

Very disappointed, broke on first use

This is nonsense. I bought 8 of these. Two of them broke the first time they were embedded in the ground. The mistake was that the snail broke off the spigot. The soil I planted them in was dry lake soil in Nevada's Black Rock Desert, soft, dry, dusty loam. To be honest, you can hardly imagine a softer surface. Very disappointed, will not buy again.

Pros
  • Test for one year

  • Infinitely sluggish

Assuming what I need for barn permit requirements

My city requires anchors/drill bits for backyard sheds without mortar (weird I know). My wooden shed (10x10 and attic) was even needed, despite its heaviness. The barn builder was initially reluctant to install them, then charged $400 to have similar augers installed. That's why I chose this one. They were exactly what I needed and met city permit requirements. They were difficult to install, but I put them in place and secured them to the joists. They won't stop the building from moving if the

Seems to work great in a variety of applications

I use two different kits. The first set is attached to my RV/hunting camp which is permanently parked at my hunting rental home. I have anchors on all 4 corners and they hold in the ground very well. I put them in the ground and a few weeks later I came back after a little rain, tamped the ground a bit and installed some turnbuckles to make the lines tighter. The anchors are tight and have not been raised once in more than two years of holding. The second kit is used to secure the 4X8 Deer…
