Disappointing Filter for Home and Kitchen

After trying this filter, I was severely disappointed .It did not remove all the impurities from my water, and I continued to taste a metallic flavor in my drinks. The only positive aspect was the easy installation process. Unfortunately the cons outweigh this one pro and I will be looking for a more effective filter for my water cooler..

Pros
  • Improves water taste and smell, removes chlorine, and reduces sediment and rust particles.
Cons
  • Requires replacement every 6 months, which can be costly in the long run.

This was not a direct match to my filter.

The filter slowly dripped through the top of the filter and didn't seem to close tight enough when you snapped it in place. Replaced the old filter, no leaks. I didn't realize it until I went back to put a date sticker on it and found a puddle of water. Have done my best to clean the case and inspect it well. I ended up giving up the old GE device in favor of another brand.
