Long Term Use - Feedback

Purchased in October 2017. Used it fairly regularly and loved the feel and performance. It's just that both of the little o-rings fell apart and fell off. seems irreplaceable. I won't be spending that kind of money on two small o-rings anymore.

Pros
  • Great fit for me
Cons
  • Only available in white

You won't regret it in Arc Welding Equipment

Went back and forth bought this thing or not and I'm glad I finally did. I'm a hobbyist, so I don't have to go through the exam I might get getting this into the shop or into production, but after burning pounds of filler trying to perfect my fingering technique, I decided to give mine Swallow proudly and Got it. Easy to use, suitable for different sizes, full control. I don't need another, but if mine ever wears out I'll be back

Instant Ability! suitable for welding machines

Just finished welding an aluminum gas tank. This thing is amazing! Purists might hate it, tell you to practice more or whatever, but it's great. I don't have time to practice fillers. I have a full time job, a part time job, 2 young kids, 2 dogs, a house to take care of and a few cars for projects. I'm decent in the weld part, the bar feed part held me back. Don't work harder, work smarter. I was able to do 18 inch stitches on thin sheet in one pass. Would buy again!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Expandable

It's very easy to hold the rod right on the edge.

I know there will be no shortage of clean welders who will resist this product, but then again I'm "understandable". It's very easy to keep the rod right on the edge of the puddle without jumping or skipping. I like to wear a thin glove (cotton or rubber) on the operating hand that allows you to stay as far away from the torch as possible and still control the surgeon, try the old fashioned way. The only little thing I have (4, 5 stars instead of 4) is the placement of the feed roller, I would…

Great workmanship but this mod could be better in my opinion

Works great if you are bare handed but no one TIG welding without gloves. With gloves on, it's difficult to get traction on an O-ring wheel to advance the stem 100% of the time because the wheel is so small. I pushed the pin out of the wheel and made a bigger feed ring on my lathe and it works a lot better. You can see the size difference in the attached image. I didn't have to enlarge the slot that the wheel fits in as it fit perfectly in the large slot without having to open it up on the…

Okay, you don't use TIG every day, so you're really not that good, are you? You're REALLY clean and still sucking? Practice, concentration and coordination are all it takes. Easy to learn, right? NO. If you learn how to feed the filler wire smoothly while maintaining precise indentation spacing, and make strokes with strokes with strokes in perfect rhythm (if you set it right ;-) Of course you have to learn it and you will learn it. Yes, all experienced TIG welders will laugh at your thumb with

Maybe good for beginners.

I have been welding TIG for almost 20 years, some colleagues were saying about this product and how it would be a great product to reduce welding wire waste. So I decided to give it a try, I serve the filler with my thumb so using my finger was weird. But by saving expenses, I actually spend more with this tool. So yes happens. But if you are an experienced welder this is not for you. Maybe this is a tool for beginners. The wheel that supplies the filler is difficult to operate with gloves on…

Pros
  • High test results for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as others
