I really liked the original tile. The new style sucks and has a style flaw as the button keeps pressing when the keys are in your pocket when moving it to the center of the tile. instead of a tile corner. If I could return it I would, worst purchase ever!

For 25 years I've been helping my husband find his wallet. EVERY DAY. It didn't matter what system I tried to put him in, which basket was on the counter just for his wallet. EVERY DAY FOR 25 YEARS. I gave him this tile for Christmas. Those were the best two months of my life.

The reason is that when an item is lost, the application needs to be activated to be notified where it was last. THIS DOES NOT WORK IN THE BACKGROUND. The support team refused to acknowledge the possibility of a tile malfunction. I live in a major metropolitan area and haven't heard a beep yet, seems suspicious. I bought a set of 4, one each for keys, spare key, wallet and collar for the cheeky cat. This product has been extremely reliable for finding things I keep losing around the house. And now the cat is easy to find hidden in the bushes thanks to its musical collar. Definitely the worst tile. I bought a Tile Mate to replace my old Gen 1 Tile. My Gen 1 was phenomenal, worked absolutely every time I called it from my phone and even lasted about 15 months. Now back to Tile Mate. Worked great for 2 months, after that when I tried to call Tile Mate from my phone it made no sound. I was hoping to use this to keep an eye on my cat in my relatively small garden. He likes to climb under bushes and is difficult to find. However, this thing is completely useless and unreliable.
