Description of ⏲ 12V 30A 5-Pin SPDT Time Delay Relay - 10 Seconds Delay

Here is the answer, a time delay relay. This relay fits most common single or dual beam HID wiring harnesses for an easy fix to prevent HID from starting before cranking the engine. Relays are contact rated at 30A @ 14 VDC, and sealed for waterproof operation. 10 second delay before switching On. Avoid those pesky ignition errors, flickering/fluttering HID, and needless wear and tear on ballasts. Not only suitable for HID, can be used in any 5 pin relay harness, like for the oil pump.

Current delay before starting the bike

This relay (I also bought a wiring harness for the relay) is perfect for accessories I want to connect to my bike. I have items like my auxiliary lights connected to the output of this relay. This gives me 10 seconds to get my bike running before they come online and drain power. Works perfectly. If I need more time, I just flip the switch and get 10 seconds more.

Pros
  • nice touch

Great timing for the delay relay, wish I had known sooner.

This relay with built in time delay is perfect for delaying engine cooling fans and air compressors (if you have air suspension) to give you time to start your car before they drain your battery. 30A is a good amount of current and should be enough for most fans, but if yours draws more use it to delay the current on the relay coils you already have.

  • Pretty Package

  • Ugly Package

The current rating depends on

The device worked fine, about 2 seconds. The NC pins only carry a few amps because the current flows in a thin trace on the board. I wanted to run glow plugs on a small diesel. Motor by switching off after 10 seconds via break contacts. The NO trace was built with more solder to allow for more current. I doubt it will handle 30 amps for very long though as the relay contacts are quite small. I cut the cover off the device and soldered the wire to the burned trace so I could use it to drive a…
