Unreliable Seal for Industrial Bearings

When I tried this product for my bearings, it failed to prevent oil leakage. It's frustrating to see the mess in my workshop due to this seal's malfunction. However, the product material impressed me as it was sturdy and could handle challenging work environments. On the downside, I purchased this product for a high price, and it's a total waste of money. Maybe, it works for some machines, but not for mine. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone in Industrial and Scientific sectors.

Pros
  • Durable construction and high-quality material ensure reliable performance
Cons
  • May wear out faster than other high-end seals on the market.

Doesn't fit, not Timkin

Wasn't Timken branded and didn't fit the Dana 80 on my second generation Dodge Ram as described. I had to rush to buy the right one at the parts store. Attached is a photo of what was received, what did not fit and did not match the brand. Terrible.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Can't remember

Used on a 2000 F350 DRW with a Dana 80 rear. I started with a gasket from Napa that was flanged and had a molded "bead" of sealant around the gasket. It seemed like a good idea, except it was so tight that any attempt to install it resulted in the flange just collapsing and eventually falling apart. I pulled it out and ordered this seal. This Timken seal had no flange or gasket on the outside. Instead it had an O-ring around the back that seals the step into the body when lowered during…

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Very Expensive
