Titan Tools 42157 Reduced Swivel Adapter with 1/2 " to 3/8 " Drive Lock

It serves a dual purpose; straight adapter from 1/2" female thread to 3/8" male thread adapter and also works as a pan/tilt adapter. The new way the Titan performs the pinless swing part has yet to be proven, but I've used it a few times and it's holding up well.

Pros
  • Also available as a 5 piece set - Titan part number 16150
Cons
  • weak

This is a GREAT value! They are a combination of a pendulum/universal joint and a drive size adapter. The center pushes and fixes the device (as shown in the picture) and they become standard fixed-size adapters. But you can also pull out the middle to unlock the device and it becomes a gimbal-sized adapter. That's cool! Because of the U-joint, they are about the same size as a swivel U-joint, which also makes them slightly larger than standard-sized adapters.

Pros
  • High impact chrome molybdenum construction for durability
Cons
  • Not sure

Beware of powerful impact tools

These are pretty cool tools. Although the quality and durability may not be up to par. I broke the #42157 1/2" to 3/8" adapter by removing a rusty 3/8 nut. With what the 3/8 inch part unscrewed? percussion instrument. It has withstood prolonged beatings with a hammer for some time, so they are durable. As a reminder, to be on the safe side, the kick adjusts up, not down. I recommend using a ratcheting tool or low powered ratchet punch or even a low powered cordless punch for #48159, 3/8"-1/4"…

Pros
  • 1/2" female to 3/8" male adapter
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Best Value Cutting Edge Tool

Great tool. Titan builds so many of my favorite instruments. They follow the leading professional brands in the industry like sk hand tools, proto, snap on, cornwell, matco, mac, gray pneumatics, notch wrench (ASTRO) etc. They mimic their new and advanced designs and make versions available and that's why i love this brand. These are quality tools for the price and it's hard to complain for what they charge for such advanced tool technology. I've been waiting for the company to release a 1/4"…

Pros
  • Pinless Hex Lock Design is 3x stronger than traditional pin designs
Cons
  • Doubful
