Doesn't close completely. uselesd

Doesn't close completely. I wanted to use it to fill bottles with a blend of essential oils. Oils will cause any plastic valve to stick. However, this one leaks even in the furthest "closed" position, rendering it virtually unusable. Not impressed.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Not the best

Good quality valve.

Good quality fit and finish. If you're mounting on a stainless steel pot, save yourself the heartache and buy a good step drill bit. However, drilling took a good 15 minutes. The O-ring goes OUTSIDE - if you put it in it won't seal and may break. I still used additional RTV silicone sealant on the outside to ensure there were no leaks.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Upgrade available

Perfect for retrofitting a stainless steel pot

Need a faucet for my 5 gallon SS pot for camping supplies to safely dispense hot water on the camp stove. Drill a hole with a step drill and coolant, insert the bushing/gasket and tighten the nut. Boiled water in one pot and hot water supply with easy control, no leakage. The nozzle gets hot, but the handle is insulated, which is good. Perfect for my needs and allowed me to inexpensively upgrade my existing pot without having to buy a new one with the spout already attached.

Pros
  • There's a twist
Cons
  • Minor issues

Great product - easy installation, no leaks

This is a great addition to any pot. The cooker will cost you over $100. A 7 gallon pot and this spout is just under $60. The aluminum pot is easy to drill with a step drill that only cost me ten bucks. I drilled the hole a little smaller and was able to "screw" the bushing into the hole, creating a really tight seal with the provided silicone washer. I filled it with 6 gallons of water to check for leaks. Later this week I will be brewing a 5 gallon batch of IPA.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only
