Works but doesn't last long

Cable started to separate from repeater after an installation. I had to seal it with duct tape before it broke completely. The product definitely works, but it's not very durable.

Pros
  • High test scores for support and durability
Cons
  • Poor repairability

Good remote control repeater, but.

The remote control extension works fine and the only thing I don't like is the short pigtail cable where the trigger sensor is connected. You need to plug the device into a USB port to power it and place the sensor in front of the device. The problem is that when the USB port is on the back, the lockpick sensor doesn't reach the front of the device. You need to buy a USB extension cable.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home

Easy to install - audio video accessories

As advertised. Works as described. I used it to hide behind a console in my closet. About 10 feet from receiver to transmitter. So it was a lot. It is powered by USB. You'll either need a USB power adapter near the transmit end that's only 10 inches from the fanout, or you'll need a device with a USB power connector. My STB had a USB port on the front so it was easy to plug into a power source. No complaints yet.

  • Many fit

TV wall mount with stereo on the other side

This worked great for sending my IR remote signals through the wall to my stereo receiver/amplifier. My device has a USB port, so I didn't have to search long for power. Not to mention the fact that it's next to the extension cord. I taped the transmitter right where the IR sensor is and it works 100% of the time. I could probably use a shorter version, I didn't really need 25ft, but it works exactly the same.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

USB and transmitter too close!

As another reviewer noted, the USB port and transmitter are about 8 inches larger on either side of the Y-connector. The receiver has about 25 feet of cable between it and the Y connector, probably 10 feet more than anyone will ever need. I'd rather have the receiver 15 feet away from Y, and then the USB and transmitter share that extra 10 feet, which is much more useful. Find the best product - you're doing yourself a big favor!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Fantastic product. Excellent build quality.

This is a fantastic thing. I routed it through my wall to the attic and down into the closet along with some other wires/cables. I was most interested in my TiVo box still being able to pick up my remote's signal, so I installed a repeater upstairs/in front of it. But this thing easily reaches everything in the closet. The stickers for the receiver turned out a lot better than I expected. I changed my TV after putting it on and the adhesive barely let go. I highly recommend this product if youโ€ฆ

Works once you scoff at the design

The USB power connector is ridiculously close to the IR emitter. There is a ridiculously long cable (25 feet) between the other two. I had to get a USB extender to use this. The power connector and IR emitter are hardwired together, so you can't add extra length of cable to solve the problem. Most people probably won't have a USB socket in a footer of the IR emitter and will need to do the same. Double-sided adhesive tape had to be provided for attaching the IR receiver and IR transmitter. Howโ€ฆ

Pros

  • Sad hardware

It works well if you plan your gear in advance

This product works great. I have a receiver in a room that has speakers and a transmitter, like a stereo receiver, in another room. The cable length is the main reason I chose this IR receiver. There are two stickers - one for attaching the receiver and one for attaching the transmitter to your stereo (or any other device you access with an IR remote). Works reliably. Naturally. The main issue with this product is that the USB connector that powers the cable is connected via a Y-adapter about a
