Works as it should. Easy connection. It was under a different brand for 4 years (although it looks identical save for the name) and started to spook and only intermittently recognized the remote control signal. Swapped it for a new one and it worked again. Apparently some components can wear out over time. But a simple $25 solution.

The seller sent me another one. DOA. The second worked and works well. I had another IR repeater that wasn't working properly. I blame the IR receiver for this. Once I got that, the IR receiver is way better than the original one I was using. Replaced the whole block and exactly as I thought. This item works great. 4 stars is a matter of luck whether it works for you or not. Yes I have a spare but the fact that I went through the process straight away deducts a star.
